Border Talks: Business Engagement with Civil Society

Modeled after the popular TED Talks, “Border Talks: Business Engagement with Civil Society” will bring together the area’s leading thinkers and business leaders to discuss the contribution of business to civil society.  Presenters will discuss upcoming projects, past successes, or specific challenges faced in community development on both sides of the border.  We invite you to come, share, and learn during this first Border Talks.

Special Guest

William Duncan, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., United States Mission to Mexico,

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister-Counselor, William H. Duncan assumed duties as Deputy Chief of Mission at U.S. Embassy Mexico City in June 2015.  Previously, he served as the Director of the Office of Andean Affairs in the Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.

His previous overseas assignments include Deputy Chief of Mission in Asunción, Political Counselor in Madrid, International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Director in Baghdad, Deputy Political Counselor in Mexico City, Narcotics Affairs Section Director in Bogotá, Political Officer in San Salvador, and Vice Consul in Matamoros.

His Washington assignments include the Offices of Mexican Affairs, East African Affairs, and Central American Affairs as well as the State Department Operations Center.
